Brands
the top of barrels are marked with the brand and caliber
RPB
These dual-purpose barrels twist fast enough to keep slugs stable and slow enough that they won't corkscrew pellets at slightly above average speeds
Originally in .22 and .25, RTI started advertising .30 RPB barrels in November 2025. With the caveat that they were shipping exclusively on the Mora Sniper (as of early 2026, the Mora Standard used a LW barrel)
- Manufactured by Lothar Walther for RTI
- They're Polygonal
- Light Choke (CITE?)
notes
RPB barrels in .25 will be a snug fit for .251 slug.
LR
A slower twist keeps pellets stable at higher speeds and longer ranges. RTI introduced a "Long Range" barrel to shoot heavy pellets fast; right up to the speed of sound. These are not good for slugs.
The LR barrel started as a separate, upgradable part in early 2020 ahead of the Prophet's release. it's polygonal, with a 1:32" twist by Lothar Wlather, choked at 0.02mm (see here). It was listed alongside the Priest II, initially in 2020 for .22 as an add-on. And quietly followed up with a .25 option.
notes
Long Range Pellet barrels are manufactured by Lothar Walther. Because of this, they are occasionally also marked with an "LW". If your barrel has any "LR" marking at all, it is a Long Range Pellet barrel.
By May 2022 the LR barrel had fallen from mention on RTI's site in deference to the newer RPB barrel that emphasized slug & pellet compatiblity.
LW
Since the mid 2020s, RTI has fully switched to Lothar Walther; every non-RPB barrel that comes on a Mora is an LW, (even the RPB barrels are manufactured by Lothar Walther, to RTI's specs)
CZ
CZ was the original provider of RTI barrels. The Priest hit the market with three choices of 20" CZ barrels. CZ barrels eventually came in a 24" offering, with the .25 barrel on the Prophet. The last rifle to ship with a CZ barrel was the Prophet 2 Compact.
