RPB RTI Proprietary Barrel

These dual-purpose barrels twist fast enough to keep slugs stable and slow enough that they won't corkscrew pellets at slightly above average speeds

Originally in .22 and .25, RTI started advertising .30 RPB barrels in November 2025. With the caveat that they were shipping exclusively on the Mora Sniper (as of early 2026, the Mora Standard used a LW barrel)

  • Manufactured by Lothar Walther for RTI
  • They're Polygonal
  • Light Choke (CITE?)
notes

RPB barrels in .25 will be a snug fit for .251 slug.

LR Long Range Pellet Barrel

A slower twist keeps pellets stable at higher speeds and longer ranges. RTI introduced a "Long Range" barrel to shoot heavy pellets fast; right up to the speed of sound. These are not good for slugs.

The LR barrel started as a separate, upgradable part in early 2020 ahead of the Prophet's release. it's polygonal, with a 1:32" twist by Lothar Wlather, choked at 0.02mm (see here). It was listed alongside the Priest II, initially in 2020 for .22 as an add-on. And quietly followed up with a .25 option.

notes

Long Range Pellet barrels are manufactured by Lothar Walther. Because of this, they are occasionally also marked with an "LW". If your barrel has any "LR" marking at all, it is a Long Range Pellet barrel.

By May 2022 the LR barrel had fallen from mention on RTI's site in deference to the newer RPB barrel that emphasized slug & pellet compatiblity.

LW Lothar Walther

Since the mid 2020s, RTI has fully switched to Lothar Walther; every non-RPB barrel that comes on a Mora is an LW, (even the RPB barrels are manufactured by Lothar Walther, to RTI's specs)

CZ Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod

CZ was the original provider of RTI barrels. The Priest hit the market with three choices of 20" CZ barrels. CZ barrels eventually came in a 24" offering, with the .25 barrel on the Prophet. The last rifle to ship with a CZ barrel was the Prophet 2 Compact.

Length

Consider the measurements below "length categories" rather than exact measurements.

700mm / 28"

Introduced in 2024 on the Mora Sniper. It offers slight efficiency increase in power up to .25 caliber, and a more significant boost in .30. At the time of writing, 700mm is the only length that RTI offers for 9mm.

Bringing 700mm barrels to the P-3 was teased in 2023. In 2025 they were available from a few dealers.

600mm / 24"

This is the default length length for all RTI rifles since the Prophet's release in 2020. (nothing in September and then 24"/600mm barrels in October)

Found on the Prophet 2 and P-3 Standard and Performance in .22, .25, and .30 (though not .177, those ship with a 510mm barrel).

500mm / 20"

Found on The Prophet 2 Compact and Priest 2 Compact (both Performance and Standard) 500mm was found on X and 510mm was found on Y

400mm / 16"

These short barrels don't come fitted on anything directly from RTI; They're available as aftermarket parts in by CZ in .22 and .25 and Lothar Walther in .30
See also here and here.
These are supposedly found in the .177 variants of the Priest 2 and Prophet 2 (though not the P-3???).

Transfer Ports

Most barrels can be found with different transfer ports. For pellets, this makes little difference. For heavy slugs, obround or double-box transfer ports can make a difference.

round

see Gregor Kamenšek's video

obround

The round transfer port extends along the barrel, increasing the transfer port size while remaining smaller-than-caliber.

TODO: is this mentioned in the Long Range Barrel Release?

double-box

used on all barrels since 2025. even .177

Indexing

Anti-Rotation Flats (aka d-flat)

dot

The Priest and Prophet used a single screw near the breech to index the barrel. These can be used on later airguns without issue.

dot and stretch

The P-3 and Mora have barrel-retention screws farther down the barrel, that can index on this surface to ensure that the transfer port is pointed straight down.

rings

This configuration doesn't force the transfer port to point straight down. This possible barrel rotation allows offseting the barrel air intake from the valve exit (effectively making an adjustable transfer port). this can be necessary when tuning very light projectiles.

Air Stripper

Only relevant to Priest, Prophet, and P-3. The Mora has at least two versions of its air stripper (mentioned here) that are not covered below—Mora barrel kits ar unreleased (2026) and it's unclear what RTI will consider "part of the barrel"

Ring

The barrel is theaded in M12x1. Incompatible with Mora

T-Standard

T-Large

here or or here (on the right)

Breech

Monolithic

Until 2024, all barrels had a breech and transfer port machined directly out of the barrel material.

brass

Since 2025, the chamber is now brass. (touched on here)

Finish

These don't affect performance and aren not a particularly useful identification tool. Included only to document an obvious difference.

silver

Most RTI barrels expose the barrel material

black

Fewer barrels are available with a thin protective layer.
